Getting Ready to Say Goodbye to Summer...with a Trip to Florida!

Last week was spent in St. Augustine, Florida with my side of the family! Every year someone seems to be added to the family...this year there were 14 of us! We had a GREAT week! It was so much fun. We had great weather, great waves, amazing food, and had fun relaxing and playing! Since no one has time for me to give all of the details here are some highlights for the week:

- While Coy and I were out boogie boarding with my sister and her husband we looked over and saw  HUGE brown body and HUGE tail swimmimg directly next to us. We jetted out of the ocean, only to discover that it was a harmless (but giant) manatee. The little creature came back later in the day but we were on shore this time and got to follow him along the shore and see his head pop out of the water a few times.
- Coy and I spent a day at the beach by ourselves because the rest of the family was burnt and wanted to spend some time doing historical tours to let their burns cool. On our way to meet them for dinner I went into my parents bathroom and took some tylenol. Sitting at the restaurant a little while later I became unfunctionally tired. After a while of comtemplating this extreme exhaustion I realized that I had taken
nighttime Tylenol. For those of you who don't know, I do not handle nighttime medicines well. I don't quite recall much from that evening but my nap when I got home was pretty great.
- Coy taught my nephew Elliott to skimboard (there are photos below). He brought him his own skim board this year they were best friends all week!
- I got to eat some of my favorite foods: shrimp, calamari, crab, crab cakes, clams, fried pickes, and fried green tomatoes.
- We went out for ice ceam almost every night and I found a new favorite flavor. (which may be blogged about at a later time).
- I got sun poisioning ALL over my body. Although it wasn't painful, just a little itchy and annoying. When I got sun poisoning in Mexico it hurt so badly that I couldn't even be in the sun. This was not the case so I am grateful for that...but not so grateful for the nasty bumps covering my arms, chest, and legs.

My sisters and I with our dad!

On the last night Coy and I went down to the beach so he could
skim board one more time before we left!
The view from the widow's peak on our house!
 All fourteen of us!
Experimenting with parenthood. Coy was a fan but he wasn't the one lugging this sweet baby around!
When my back got tired he only lasted about ten minutes before passing her off to someone else to carry!
Coy and I were usually ready to head to the beach before everyone else. So we would take the kids
along with us. They loved the ocean and the waves and were so much fun to watch play.
 Sissies and our hubs.
Love my sisters!
Our last night at the beach! We ate at an amazing restaurant on the beach.
Coy teaching Elliott to skim board!
Beach beauties (or something like that)
I love this one! Coy is so great with Eve and loves getting his hands on her.
Setting up shop. We basically had the beach to ourselves! It was SO nice!
A picture at Coy's favorite restaurant for the week, Salt Water Cowboys.

We had such a great week and can't wait for our next vacation (whenever that might be).

A weekend at The Cliffs

This past weekend was spent at The Cliffs, in South Carolina! One of my best friend's aunt has a house on the lake there and 5 girls headed there for 'Girls Weekend.' We had SO much. It was such a beautiful place. The weekend was spent laying out, boating, jet skiing, playing banana grams, eating amazing food, and laughing. I love these little girls get-a-ways and this one did not disappoint!

Tomorrow morning we head to Florida for family vacation with my family! I love summer because there are vacations galore...and despite the inevitable sun poisioning I get, I love being in the sun! Fourteen of us will be in Saint Augustine for the week...look for pictures from this next trip soon!

4th of July...I'll take some!

I LOVE the 4th of July! Not only was it the 4th of July but it was also Coy's birthday (on the 5th).
 We went to the lake...
And made a great dinner (even though the grill where we were was out of gas and we had to cook
our steak in the oven).

Coy tried refusing to take this picture because we kept putting up the peace sign. However,
on the count of three we threw them up so he had to take it!
These are my favorite types of fireworks!

I got Coy a golf bag for his birthday!
 He is the big 2-9!
Drive in - Transformers and Secret 8
Our drive in digs...so much fun!!

Hope your Fourth of July was as fun as mine!

Day 29: 3 Wishes

1. To pay off my school loans before my children are in college!! : )

2. The my family and friends remain healthy and happy.

3. For my dad to still be in good enough health to perform my future children's weddings.

Although there are many wishes that I have these are the first three that came to mind! Although there is theme of future children here...don't worry...there are no plans for any baby Michele and Coy's anytime soon!

A week in the closet...

Coy and I just returned home from a week spent at my parent's house. It was a busy week with family in town and there ended up being 17 people also staying there last week. Leaving a battle of whether Coy and I were going to get 'our' bedroom at my parents house. The day we arrived my mom and I had a conversation that went something like this...
Mom: "I have a really great idea...I think it would be SO fun if you and Coy would sleep on the floor of my closet."
Me: "I'm sorry, what?"
Mom: "Yeah...we can put a mattress on the floor and you won't hear anything. It will be SO fun."
Me: "You are crazy."

Well she ended up not being as crazy as I thought because here were our sleeping arrangements for the week:
