Thankful Days 1-5

Since I started this challenge a little late I will make up for it by catching up in one simple post!

DAY 1 I'm thankful for my family. Last weekend hubs and I moved into our new home. Not only did our family spend hours and hours getting our home ready to be moved into (painting, fixing, cleaning, etc) but they also spend most of the day Friday and Saturday helping us get moved and settled in. In addition to that, my mom has made several trips to our house since we moved in (just a week ago) to help with other odds and ends. We both have felt pretty blessed and thankful lately - not only for our beautiful home, but for our amazing family which make each day in life a little easier.

DAY 2 I'm thankful that I know Jesus personally. Often times when I go through valleys I sit back and think that I just don't know what I would do if I didn't have Christ to walk through them with. Not only do I find comfort and strength in the Lord in my times of need but I also find joy and peace with Him in my times of rejoicing. How blessed we are that we are so loved by the creator of the universe! How blessed am I that I am in relationship with this same Maker.

DAY 3 I'm thankful that I have an amazing husband. We by no means have a perfect marriage, but we do have a blessed one. He is my rock. He brings me such joy and my life is complete with him in it. Recently I have not taken enough time to stop and appreciate him and all that he is and does. He is such a great man, not only because he is my husband but because of the joy and laughs he brings to so many people. His heart is so big. He loves me and puts up with my dramatics constantly. He loves the Lord and I love that together we walk in relationship with Him. I'm not just thankful because the Lord blessed me with a husband, I am thankful because I have been blessed with the perfect husband, who fits like a glove into my life.

DAY 4 I'm thankful for the mornings that involve coffee, which is all most of them. Whether this comes in the form of fresh brewed coffee from home or through the Starbucks drive thru and whether it comes while sitting in my office at work sipping out of my travel mug or wrapped in a blanket watching television with my big huge mug in hand, I am thankful for my love for coffee and the way that it has the ability to brighten any morning. Some of you coffee haters may not be able to understand this concept (and for that I feel sorry for you) but for those of us coffee lovers you know the exact thing I am talking about. Coffee and mornings and anytime of day just go together.

DAY 5 I'm thankful there's only an election every 4 years. And even that is too often. I am so over all of the political ridiculousness that is going on. Everyone has their opinion and everyone is entitled to that but social media has made stomaching it so much more difficult. While I can't say I don't care who you are voting for, because I do care about the future of this country, I can say that I don't care that you want to spread it all over Facebook and Twitter in a disrespectful fashion most of the time. I am also thankful this only happens once every 4 years because I don't think I can stand more of these debates, which also end with me furious about how both parties acted and the way they blame each other instead of focusing on the item at hand. So, instead of being in a bad mood over the next 48 hours I will choose instead to be thankful it is almost over and everyone can move on with their lives.
